Behance Material Design Android App

Behance's website is a way for creative professionals (photographers, artists, designers) to showcase their work online in a neat and accessible portfolio that also brings them together with a community of similar folks. For an app that's focused on showcasing design, Behance was slacking, but not a lot. It looked good, but there were a few refinements and different approaches in Material Design that weren't yet implemented in it. Today, those little improvements have gone live in the latest version 3.0.

Don't expect the ground to shift below your feet when you open the app for the first time after the update. Everything still looks kind of the same and the changes are very subtle. The most visible one is the new grid layout in the main feed and when browsing projects, which lets the app display more content in one screen. Search is more readily accessible from the feed, refinements are tucked under a new button, and there's a floating button for sending messages to users.

New above, old below.

Searching for people now yields bigger thumbnail images of their work, and the profile page has been updated with a larger hero cover image.

Aside from the aesthetic changes, Behance added support for Marshmallow's permissions and a new job board where users can find work offers and apply for them. Here's the full changelog, with a link the Play Store below it.
